Comments, comments everywhere

Well this is a record day in Corridor history. 3 comments on a single post, that's more than we average in a month. Thanks to all who contributed, its nice to know that at least someone is reading this. There were a few questions in the comments that I'd like to address.

"i was wondering when the futures betting will take place?/ it has to be coming soon"

The Future Wagers are indeed coming upon us quickly, however we will also be able to get a good look at some of the main contenders before the first pool opens. The Swale, Holy Bull and Sham stakes are set to be run before Pool 1 opens and the Risen Star will be run while the first pool is open. That means, injuries notwithstanding, we can get a look at Nobiz Like Showbiz, Scat Daddy, Circular Quay and Ravel before laying down our money.

Here are the Future Bet specifics.

Pool 1 – February 8-11
Pool 2 – March 8-11
Pool 3 – April 12-15

Wagering in the respective Thursday-Sunday pools will open daily at noon (Eastern). Each of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager pools is scheduled to close at 6 p.m. on Sunday, while the Kentucky Oaks Future Wager pools will close a half-hour later at 6:30 p.m.

"also, do you think brother derek is turning a little sour from all the racing he has done, especially, last year"

It is quite possible, at the very least we know that Brother Derek is struggling in the types of races he had been winning for fun as a young horse. I am reticent to attribute it to sourness. He looked a picture prior to the San Fernando, but he didnt make the lead, couldnt sustain a bid and was fortunate to hold onto third. Horses that have soured rarely look like they're enjoying the races preliminaries. Hendricks obviously feels that the problem isnt too severe because he has already indicated that he is on track for the Strub. But then again trainers dont always do what is right. Basically I dont know what is eating Brother Derek but one thing I would love to see is for his connections to send him to the lead. I really think he prefers to be in front even if the pace gets a little quick.

Keep the comments coming! Maybe someday we'll get 4 :)

Couldn't agree with you more about how Bro Derek should be running. There is no doubt that the BC Classic was the best race of his life, and where was he running?... On the lead!
