Midweek Musings

--- Earlier today Kingsgate Native did what many Americans would believe to be impossible. He won the Nunthorpe Stakes (G-1) at York which is a spot where the top sprinters show up. What made his performance special was he was still a maiden with just 2 prior career starts. What made it even better is that Kingsgate Native is a 2yo and the Nunthorpe is an open aged race! Europeans allow 2yo's to enter some of their Group Stakes races and they give them hearty weight concessions but still the feat is rarely accomplished and it is even more rare with a maiden. Congrats to Kingsgate Native.

--- For those who who like free stuff make sure to check out the link on the sidebar entitled Past Performances. It will take you to a topic on the Thoroughbred Champions message board that is a one stop shop for free Past Performances. All available PP's for Saratoga and stakes races are updated regularly and if you want a race that isn't listed just make a request. I and a few others work to keep it updated and we'll do our best to accommodate any requests.

--- I'm starting to get the buzz for the Breeders Cup in earnest, if I can find the time to update all my stats and profiles we'll start with BC statistics like we did for the Derby right after Saratoga.

Should be a great weekend of racing!
