Weekend review

Not many changes at all this week. The TCR standings remain basically unchanged as racings biggest stars ran in the morning instead of the afternoon. Its as if the racing world is holding its breath for next Saturday.

There was one starlet on display this weekend. Saratoga's best maiden winner has now become a stakes winner at Churchill Downs. Tiz Wonderful blew away his Iroquois rivals to record a 6 3/4 length victory. He also earned a 96 Beyer for the effort. This Tiznow colt looked great in his debut. This race was in my mind almost less impressive just because of the way he acted. He was quite rank early on and pulled himself all the way to the lead. He was good enough to overcome that and win easily but he needs to settle better. He is clearly a prodigus talent with perhaps a few issues to settle. This is one that Asmussen will be champing at the bit to train when he gets back.

The BC Juvenile may be anti-climatic in a way as some will feel that the best 2yo isnt even running.
