Jackpot on Ice?

Delta Jackpot
There are many ways to go with this race. One could easily just go for Go Poppa Fooze the local horse. He's been dominant in his races and has a win over the strip. You could go with the out of town class in Officer rocket and Xchanger who are the only graded stakes winners in the field. Or you could take the Turf horse Birdbirdistheword. All these horses take some money and all of them have pros and cons. I'm not going to use Go Poppa Fooze. Although he may be the speed of the speed I think he is going to find this class too tough. The only time in his life he was challenged he faded to third, and that was when sprinting. I think Mistycal Light will grind him into the ground. The two horses I really like are Pirates Deputy and Ice Man Cometh. Pirates Deputy likes two turns and has a really scary late kick. If this were not a bull ring I'd take him for sure. I think Baffert has a real winner on his hands, but maybe not in this spot. If he falls too far behind he wont be able to get through traffic quickly enough. With that in mind I prefer a horse with good tactical speed. Ice Man Cometh may look out of his element but his last race was super. He looked like a horse who was ready to step to the next level. He drilled a bullet last out in preparation for this one. He has the ability to get up near the pace and get first run on the horses like Officer Rocket, Freespool and of course Pirates Deputy. Violette is one of the best 2yo trainers in the nation. I think he's got a real good one on his hands here.

1) Ice Man Cometh
2) Pirates Deputy
3) Officer Rocket
