There have been a few key races in this division in the past month but as before I'm left with the impression that there are two distinct classes of fillies. There is Informed Decision and Ventura and then there is everyone else. Carlsbad may be good enough to join the top group but realistically I see this race being dominated by my #1 and #2 horses.
Game Face ran huge at Calder and Jessica Is Back came out of a defeat that day to run huge as well but massive Beyer figures earned at Calder don't really impress me when it comes to handicapping a synthetic sprint. Game Face does have a good deal of back class so she makes the list but her good form is dirt form and I really don't think she's a likely winner. There simply aren't more than 10 horses more qualified.
Cat Moves could be any kind and she was impressive when beating Light Green in the Prioress but again she's only been on the dirt and I'm generally against any Jerkins horses going west or on synthetics. They just don't have a good record in those types of spots. Cat Moves may be an exception to the rule so I've included her.
Evita Argentina almost made this list courtesy of her latest win over older mares including Coco Belle but she needs a good pace setup to be effective and she has yet to show me that one really brilliant race that would suggest she could compete with the best in this division. If the rest of the horses in this division keep up with the inconsistency they've shown then she'll make the list but for now I'm just not that sold on her.
