The Sprint is one of the most interesting races of the day for me. I have a small sense of attachment to Henny Hughes. Last year for the Juvenile people were jumping off him as fast as they could but I actually made him my top selection and for a moment he almost looked as if he’d hold on. He’s a classy horse and that class has seen him dominate every race he’s been in this year. But this is no cakewalk and I think he’ll be poor value. I think the inside draw is very bad for him. You never want to be down on the inside in the Sprint. He has also never faced the type of fractions that’s he’s going to in this spot. Although I must admit I fear playing against him more than any other horse that I’ve chosen to discard. Bordonaro is the speed of the speed and he will go to the front. Attila’s Storm will try and go with him but there is no way he’ll be able to clear him barring a major gate mishap. I think Bordonaro can be caught. And that someone is going to wear him down late. Too Much Bling and Siren Lure appear to be the best candidates. Siren Lure is a classy horse that is a near guarantee for the super. But I do think his run will fall short. I always prefer handy tactical speed in the sprint. I think closers are really up against it. Too Much Bling to me looks like the best play. He’s more than fast enough to win a race like this. He’s fresh and layoffs are a good thing in this race. He prefers to be outside of horses so his draw is a decent one. He should also be about 12/1, which makes him extra enticing. He is consistent and loves to make that big sweeping move on the turn. He also is quite effective at 7f and that will hold in good stead in deep stretch when Bordonaro weakens. War Front may be the wiseguy horse to hit the frame but I dislike him. Jerkens isn’t great with shippers and no matter how many times I watch the Vosburgh I cant get over the fact that Attila’s Strom looked far better. I really don’t see War Front beating him this time and I cant see Attila’s Strom better than third. Another horse I like but only if his price drifts is Pomeroy. He has been just a summertime specialist. But Marty Wolfson is crafty and dangerous. If he can make a Miesque’s Approval into the horse he is then Pomeroy’s last two runs with him can’t be reduced to simply his preference for sunshine and Saratoga. There will likely be some bomb running well that I haven’t thought of so I will again go fairly deep with exacta’s.
1) Too Much Bling
2) Bordonaro
3) Siren Lure

Hi there Kennedy-
I haven't had a chance to even look at any pps yet, but one thing to keep in mind regarding Pomeroy is that his new connections have pointed him to this race since July. When they bought him (several onths ago I guess), they had this race in mind. He's got enough speed to make some waves against this crew, and he's shown he can race effectively outside the Spa (at Calder anyway).
